so, here it begins. i'm not feeling too positive today as talk of redundancies is heavy in the air so i'm feeling the need to scratch that creative itch. if the shit hits the fan, i want to hit the groudn running, or at least skipping so i'm eagerly awaiting the arrival of my pal S, so we can discuss the tactics for our new stall (or plan B as it's also known)...i've promised the american that we'll have set up our stall before she gets back from her holidays which is 3 weeks. don't think that's too ambitious but then this blog isn't called finishing the unfinished for nothing! the plan is to sell up-cycled items, like furniture - kids chairs, stools, wood toys, kitchen stuff, together with regular second-hand finds and stuff that we've made - sewn, crocheted, knitted. i'm hoping for the odd contribution from friends and family seeing as how they seem AS talented as we are (hahahahahaha! well we are....aren't we??) and then we'll pop up a stall at the greenside car park in edinburgh at the sunday boot fair and hope for the best. our intention is that we'll suffer the rejection from boot fair punters but NOT the rejection from craft fair selection panels who OBVIOUSLY don't get us (not that there's much to get, you understand!) it's just too stressful for us and we're sensitive flowers....read 'wimps'. honestly. it sounds so straight forward and easy that i wonder why i haven't done this earlier but 3 kids and too little sleep and it's like everest! never mind. going to be proactive and stop the complaining...NOW!
on the plus side, we came back from holidays full of energy to build and install bunk beds, paint walls, finish the unfinished as it were. i am DEFINATELY going to do the blinds. i hear that red is condusive to sleeping and blue for waking. thinking of some bonny bunting in our room in the bold red ikea print that was rejected for the blinds (in favour of standard classy white). doesn't every house need bunting??
